How to Get Involved

The BVTS Needs "People" Help

As a young(ish) organization, we are in need of volunteers to help this season, in the various capacities listed below.  If you can spare some time to donate or have special skills that may be of assistance, please contact Gary@bearvalleytrails.org and let us know!

Event Coordinator

This is not one of those "do it yourself" jobs.  Event preparation, organization and "day-of" jobs are done by the whole team.  We are in need of an organized person who is a good planner that can keep track of the details and keep the train on the track. Trail work events approx. every 3 weeks during the summer.

Trail Crew Leaders

If you have experience with trail building techniques and can lead a crew of 5-6 trail workers during our trail building event days, your help would be welcome.  We hold trail work events every 3rd Saturday, during the summer, with up to 25 volunteers.  Crew leaders are needed to assist and oversee a small group, on a portion of a larger project. Trail work normally lasts from 8:30 to noon with complimentary lunch provided.

Join us on volunteer trail work days

A typical trail work day may have from a dozen to 30+ volunteers.  There are all level of jobs from lopping off invading tree  branches to improving trail drainage to making new trails.  Friends and family are always welcome, and is a good way to meet new friends and have a great time outdoors.

We typically work from 8:30am to around 1pm, then retire to BVTS Park (next to the BV Adventure Center for a beer or BBQ and a relax)

Come out and join us!  See below how YOU can get involved!
